Welcome to Malaysian Indian Stars

Asaraf Ali, widely known as Asraf vlogger passed away

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Asaraf Ali, widely known as Asraf Vlogger, who passed away on 1 April 2026.

As the admin of Malaysian Indian Star, I have been one of his subscribers since his early days on YouTube. Watching his journey from the beginning has been truly inspiring. Through his dedication and consistent uploads, his channel grew steadily, gaining more views and subscribers over time. He reached the milestone of 100K subscribers and received the YouTube Silver Play Button, and his channel currently stands at 165,000 subscribers.

Many of his videos left a lasting impact. His Penang Thaipusam vlog reached over half a million views, while his Hanifa Shopping video gained around 300K views. One of the most heartfelt videos was his “Pasumpon Village Tour,” where he shared his birthplace, showing his school, the streets he grew up in, his grandmother’s house, relatives’ homes, and many personal memories. That video alone touched many hearts and reached over 340K views.

His signature greeting, “Hai Nanbargale,” will truly be missed. Asraf was a humble and down-to-earth person, always seen with a warm smile. His simple question, “Saaptacha?” (Have you eaten?), reflected the kindness and sincerity in his heart.

It is heartbreaking to know that he is no longer with us. We will deeply miss his frequent uploads and the passion he had for vlogging. His consistency and commitment showed how much he truly loved what he did. His last video was posted on Facebook on 1 April 2026 at 10:01 AM, the same day he passed away.

Although Asraf was not from Malaysia, he explored and showcased our country with incredible passion. From food to cultural events across different states, his efforts in documenting Malaysia were remarkable. He won the hearts of many Malaysians with his cheerful personality and genuine nature.

He may be gone, but his videos and memories will live on forever.

Rest in Peace, Asaraf Ali (Asraf Vlogger).

The funeral prayer (Solat Jenazah) will be held on Thursday, 2 April 2026 at Masjid As-Salam, located at Jln PJS 1/21, Taman Petaling Utama, 46150 Petaling Jaya, Selangor, after Asar prayer.
